Biography:
Alfred L. Calvert
My
ministry in the Lord Jesus began while incarcerated. I was
saved in prison called to preach and filled with His precious
Spirit. Then the Lord began to use me to win countless souls
for the kingdom in prison.
Although
my degree is in business, my experience with people spans
over forty years in the streets with pimps and prostitutes,
drug dealers and people from all walks of life. More than
that, I've been with and was taught by Jesus while incarcerated,
fasting without bread or water for days in prayer and meditation
in His holy Word.
My
ability in pastoral leadership began while serving for three
years as the assistant to Dr. William H. Murphy, Sr. of the
Greater Ebenezer Full Gospel Missionary Church.
I
have written this book, "Born a Bastard, Now
Born-Again." It includes four phases of my life:
(1) the pimp, (2) the poison, (3) the prison, and (4) the
preacher. It details my experiences in seeking love in all
the wrong places.
I've
also poetically written on every book in the Bible titled,
"Divine Rhyme." I have written
several full-page articles in the Gospel Connection Newspaper
on love and marriage, and also on law and grace. I've worked
both radio and television, hosting and co-hosting my own show.
I teach Sunday school at Greater Grace Temple, The City
of David under the leadership of Bishop Charles H. Ellis,
III. I also work in various other ministries at Greater Grace,
especially prison. Ive ministered the Gospel of Jesus
Christ all over the country, for which I am not ashamed.
I'm
more than pleased to come to you for such a time as this.
I owe everything to the Lord for his precious Blood, resurrection
power, and the sweetness of His grace.
I'm
blessed with two wonderful children: Alfred, Jr. and Kimberly
Calvert.
