Biography:
Daniel W. Miller
Daniel
W. Miller, Ph.D. is a psychologist in private practice in
Brooklyn, NY, formerly Chief Psychologist at Kings Park State
Hospital and former director of a private in-patient treatment
center in Livingston Manor, NY. He is currently Chair of Consciousness
Studies at Greenwhich University, a member of the New York
Academy of Sciences, Vice-Pres. of the Association for Spirituality
and Psychotherapy where he also teaches and co-edits Psychospiritual
Diaglogue, which he helped found, and is a member of the UN/NGO
Mental Health Committee. He has lectured, conducted workshops
and trained professionals in mental health practice at conferences
and training centers in 17 countries and is the author of
The Unseen Universe: Of Mind and Matter published
in 1993, as well as over 60 articles, three.plays and highly
praised poetry.
His writing takes the point of view that consciousness is
a dynamic interface through which knowledge gained from the
fields of Science, Psychotherapy and Spiritituality can be
bridged, ultimately increasing personal and social well-being.
Integrating research from these heretofore unconnected fields
has resulted in his newest book, The Web and the Cloth:
Science, Consciousness and Homeodynamics - What they are and
what they do. It is a fundmentally original, creative
effort that gradually unfolds the tremendous width and depth
found in the dynamic systems in stellar to human processes.
His thinking challenges his readers to reconceptualize their
worldview. As Dr.Harris Dienstfrey, former editor of Advances
in Mind-Body Medicine has said, "A Breakthrough
book--where few have gone before...The Web and the Cloth
is a work of high originality, tracking the central issue
of the mind-body interface in our individual survival and
in our evolution as a species...A good ride and a great learning
experience!"
