Ellinor Burke Ph.D.
Dr.
Ellinor Burke is a psychologist and learning consultant with
a special interest in children who suffer from stress related
disorders. In 25 years of practice she has found that children
who worry do so to the degree that they often cannot cope
with their fears and anxieties.
Based
on her experience-counseling children under stress, Dr. Burke
has published a book and listening CD created entirely to
assist youngsters who worry. “Susana Worrywart
and the Magical Teddy Bear Balloon” is
the story of a young child who worries, but learns how to
handle her fears. In today’s world where children worry
about divorce, war, unemployment, academic and social issues,
she has created this program to help these children cope with
their fears.
Ellie
found that most children are especially receptive to the calming
influence of reading and listening. The book and companion
CD provide useful visual, distraction and relaxation concepts
that children can readily understand and use on their own
as needed.
