Elna
V. Cedeno graduated in 1986 with an Associate of Arts
Degree, in Child Care Training/Human Services and credits
toward a Degree Program in Elementary Education, in Detroit,
Michigan, 1989.
Accomplishments
include: "What Has Art Done For You?" published by the Impulse
Magazine, Birmingham, Michigan, column. From the
Reader's column, "Coverage Should Be More Fair", published
in the Detroit Free Press, Detroit, Michigan. "Silent
Voices" published in the Parent/Child Center of Tulsa,
Oklahoma, Newsletter Issue II 1996. Community News, "Sylvia
Wilson, your publisher," column written for Child Abused
Victims (questions and comments), Fort Worth, Texas, in
August 2003.
The topics
included in "Stop the Silence: Can You Hear Us" will
give an overview of precise information to identify child
abuse. Intended to educate the public for the continual and
attentive awareness to this enormous problem. Included are
charts of comparable statistics by years and the ages of
children in their age group. Case histories that explain why
so many children are acting out as the direct results from
the abuses they have experienced. Elna's own story and
personal testimony of recovery. Child abuse expressed
through poetry, as well as uplifting poetry for
encouragement. Also lists professional services and
organizations for help.
