Bowker Biography:
R. Gary Raham

Gary Raham has written and illustrated four of his own books on natural history and journaling and contributed to various children’s markets,
including Cricket, Highlights for Children, Read, and Discovery Channel Books. He has also written several science video scripts and serves as a correspondent / columnist for The North Forty News. A former biology teacher, he still enjoys teaching and has collaborated with a Colorado teacher to adapt his science fiction/science fact book, The Deep Time Diaries, for teaching Earth science and creative writing in middle schools. His newest book, Teaching Science Fact With Science Fiction, will be published by Libraries Unlimited in 2004.

Mr. Raham has created biomedical and natural history illustrations for many clients including Grolier, Inc., Oxford University Press, Publications International Ltd., Fulcrum Publishing, Harcourt, and U. S. Fish and Wildlife. He currently serves as the Co-regional advisor for the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
