Biography:
Helga Hayse
Helga
Hayse is a writer, video producer and award winning
journalist. She attended Rutgers University and earned her
Bachelor of Science in Journalism from California State
University . She worked as a feature writer for NASA/Ames
and the San Jose Mercury News.
After careers in
free lance and corporate communications, she opened her own
company Prime of Life Marketing to consult with businesses
on how to understand the demographics, market potential and
needs of the mature consumer.
She also founded The
Institute for Vitalaging, a California non-profit
organization offering programs to promote health, creativity
and independence in older adults .
Two years before she
was widowed, Helga created A Wifešs Guide to Financial
Intimacy to teach women about the need for financial
participation in their marriage. After extensive research
and testing, and just as she was launching the seminar in
the public arena, her husband died suddenly in an accident.
The information she had researched for other women helped
save her life.
She presents public
seminars for women and conducts private seminars for
corporate, professional and community groups. She also
teaches in the Adult Education programs sponsored by cities
in the San Francisco Bay area.
Her book, Don't
Worry About A Thing, Dear, uses her own story of being
widowed suddenly as a template for teaching how to
understand marital finances and how women can protect
themselves in case of widowhood or divorce.
