Biography:
John William McCluskey
John
William McCluskey, a native New Yorker, has spent his working
life in the publishing industry beginning with a job at The
New York Daily News. After college John worked for such
magazines as House Beautiful, Family Circle, Parade Magazine,
and others. In 1980 John formed his own company, Arden Communications,
and took over two magazines from Popular Publications, Cars
and Pro Quarterback . Ardens list of consumer
newsstand publications grew to include Landscaping Homes
and Gardens, Diet Digest, Performance Rods and Street Machines,
Image, Future Times and Predictions, Ardens Good Times
Almanac, and others.
The
companys focus moved from magazines to books with the
publication of The Complete Book of Wedding Toasts,
a project that had been in the works over several years. During
this time, Johns interest in philosophy and spirituality
lead him to the study and practice of the Tarot, which proved
to be a life-changing and enlightening event. Fascinated with
the subject, John immersed himself in studying the practical
applications of this ancient art and performed, literally,
hundreds of thousands of readings, both in the United States
and in Europe. Amazing Mystic Tarot, a comprehensive
book for the beginner as well as the advanced reader, was
published in 2002.
John
divides his time between East Hampton, New York, and Dublin,
Ireland.
