Biography:
Katherine Graham, Esq.
Katherine
Graham, Esq. is not your typical retired attorney. Neither
is she your typical author as exemplified in Hell Hath
No Fury Like A Womans Poems, Poetry & Essays (Moxie
Books 2003). Graham, who grew up in Tenafly, NJ, felt a call
from God at any early age following the sudden death of her
younger sister in 1956. Yet, Graham took this childhood grief
to God, whom she still believes saved her life by inspiring
her to write. She continued to do so throughout her college
career (graduating magna cum laude with a B.A. in English
Literature), and serving as a published member of The Law
Review (graduating with a J.D. from Seton Hall Universitys
School of Law). After clerking one year for The Presiding
Judge of The New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division,
she worked for almost 10 years as a Deputy Attorney General
with the state Office of Attorney General, Division of Criminal
Justice, until her son was born in 1986. As a single Mom,
she then began a private criminal appellate law practice,
which continued for another 10 years, until she was compelled
to leave her beloved Tenafly, NJ in search of a better education
for her son, who is Deaf. Ultimately, this journey with its
challenges (for which she thanks God while admittedly kicking
and screaming along the way), allowed her the strength, grace,
and imagination to write the tour de force that is Hell
Hath No Fury Like A Womans Poems, Poetry & Essays.
