Biography:
Kathy and Roger Cawthon
Kathy Cawthon is a freelance journalist, author and
photographer whose work has received numerous awards from the
Virginia Press Association, National Federation of Press
Women, National Education Association and American Cancer
Society. She is a graduate of the College of William and Mary
where she is also a Fellow of the Eastern Virginia Writing
Project.
Roger Cawthon is a former reporter for CNN and anchor for ABC
and CBS affiliates. He has received numerous awards in the
fields of broadcast journalism and business as well as from
the American Cancer Society. He is a graduate of the United
States Military Academy at West Point.
Both cancer survivors who were diagnosed at the same time, The
Cawthons are the founders of The Cancer Crusade, an
organization dedicated to fighting cancer with hope and
humor. The Cancer Crusade publishes weekly
affirmations and monthly newsletters (free and online at
www.TheCancerCrusade.com) for cancer survivors and
caregivers, and the Cawthons travel extensively speaking at
medical conferences, cancer awareness events and survivor
celebrations.
The Cancer Crusade released a 3½-minute internet movie
entitled The Survivor Movie in June, 2005. Within six
months, this labor-of-love project had been viewed more than
200,000 times in every state in the United States and in more
than 37 other countries. The movie is free for the viewing at

The Cawthons have two adult sons and live in Virginia.
