Biography:
Leticia Aguilar
Leticia
Aguilar, is originally from Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico.
She studied at the Atenas college and then with art
professionals. In U.S.A., she continued studying Graphic
Design in the Cerritos College of the city of Norwalk, Ca.
She participated in
a series of individual and collective exhibits. She was
Instructor of Drawing in La Casa de la Cultura, and years
later in the Cultural Arts Center of Norwalk, Ca.
She used to write
articles about art and she was also coordinator of the
department of art and history in El Museo de la Ciudad of
her native city. That same year, she immigrated to the
United States. Since then, she continued exhibiting.
She has received
acclaim for her craft. She has been received honorable
mentions for her work, a Commendation from the city of Los
Angeles, and Alhambra city. She has made appearances on Eco
News, Sabado Gigante Internacional, Los Angeles al Dia,
displaying her art and discussing the encaustic technique
she uses in creating her work.
She lives in Los
Angeles, Ca. with her husband and has her studio in the same
city.
