Nil A. Moore, Ed.D.
Nil
A. Moore, Ed.D. is the President of Counseling Center of Greensboro.
She earned her doctoral degree in Counseling from the University
of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Masters and Specialist
degrees in School Psychology from Winthrop University in Rock
Hill, South Carolina. She has worked as a psychologist since
1982 and has been in private practice working with children,
adolescents, adults and families at Counseling Center of Greensboro
since 1986. Dr. Moore also has 9 years of teaching experience
at college level. She was an Adjunct Faculty member at High
Point University Behavioral Science and Human Services department
from 1987 to 1995 teaching psychology courses. She was also
a part-time Lecturer at the University of North Carolina at
Greensboro in the Counseling department for 3 years teaching
a graduate level counseling course.
Dr.
Moores clinical experience at the Counseling Center
has involved extensive work in diagnosis and treatment of
ADHD and related disorders that often coexist with ADHD. She
is the author of ADHD Facts Parents Should Know
which was published in 2003. Her book is thorough and concise
in discussing the diagnostic criteria and appropriate treatments
for ADHD, including pharmacological approaches, cognitive-behavioral
treatments as well as remedial educational services. The book
also includes case studies to demonstrate the evaluation process
involved in the assessment of ADHD children. Dr. Moores
book is based on the latest research data and contains information
parents should know.
