Biography:
Peter B. Lewis
Peter's
achievements in the audio/music recording industry over the
last three decades have been exciting and, at times, amazing.
With Lewis in the lead, AUDISEE Sound & Music grew from
a small sound design firm to the West Coast's undisputed leader
in environmental sound design for tradeshows, permanent installations
and large format video. From this platform, Peter has dedicated
himself to founding and leading the CarTours Foundation toward
its principle mission of creating grassroots stewards.
CarTours'
is the nation's leading producer of self-guided interpretive
audio driving tours for protected areas such as National Parks,
World Heritage sites and Historic or Scenic Byways. CarTours
driving tours are general interest educational programs intended
for in-car listening on a normal car stereo.
As
they drive, travelers experience an interpretive story timed
for their route and hear naturalists, scientists, local residents
and native storytellers. Our mission is to inspire stewardship
by communicating the eternal value and preserving the cultural
history of these significant areas.
All
proceeds and contributions are reinvested into this global
project. Our goal, with development of sustainable funding,
is to present the programs in several languages, make these
high quality audio programs available free to schools, libraries,
hospitals and tourism offices and to sell them to the public
for the lowest possible price.
The
idea is to inspire Environmental and Cultural Stewardship
to as many people as possible.
"CarTours
offers refreshing and revealing stories shared by naturalists,
residents, and scientists. The creative use of various natural
sounds really grabs your attention and brings the outside
world right into your car! Engaging stories with important
conservation messages, yet fun and enjoyable."
--Jim Gale, NPS, Chief of Interpretation, Hawaii Volcanoes
National Park
