Biography:
Robin Aikens
Robin
Aikens was born on December 26, 1969 to Rosie Ross, a single
mother. They lived in the Robert Taylor Homes, a housing project
on the south side of Chicago. At age 6, Robins mother
introduced her to the game of golf. At age 7, Robin began
to compete with the Bob-O-Links Junior Golf Club. By the time
Robin graduated from high school, she had won over 25 trophies
and titles for junior golf. Robin auditioned for Emerson School
for Visual and Performing Arts in Gary, Indiana after her
family moved. She majored in violin performance. She won over
15 first place awards for violin performance in The Indiana
State School Music Association (ISSMA). Before Robin graduated
high school, she was playing professionally in two orchestras.
Robin
went on to Purdue University where she graduated with a B.A.
in Sociology. While she was there, she was a member of their
symphony orchestras first violin section, and a walk-on
to The Purdue University Womens Golf Team. She went
on to receive two Master of Arts degrees from Roosevelt University
in Chicago, in Education.
Robin
is Executive Director of InnerCityGolf, a 501 C 3, non-profit
organization. She is also President and CEO of Golf Safari
Products.
Robin
is a member of The Ladies Professional Golf Association. She
has 3 children, Taylor- age 7, and Jordan and Jalen (twin
girl and boy- age 5).
