Biography:
Shayne Hood
by
shayne is a young company committed to providing educational
and fun books to children of all ages.
The
small publishing house was started by Shayne Hood, a work-at-home
mom who began her career as an animator. She received her
undergraduate and graduate degrees in filmmaking at the California
Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California. Her first animation
job was as an assistant effects animator for the feature Fern
Gulley: The Last Rainforest. She has contributed to feature
films, television, and CD-ROMs as an effects animator, character
animator, and storyboard artist.
Shaynes
best productions came in the forms of a son and a daughter,
both of whom are home schooled. Her Masters Thesis, a short
animated film about a little girl and her pet giraffe, was
based on her first book Jeremy Cant Drink Milk which
she wrote for her children. This title, as well as the film,
will be made available to other children later this year.
Love
of animation and love for raising and educating her children
inspired Shayne to produce The Original Lets Animate
which teaches children, and young-at-heart adults, about animation
as an art form. It also allows them to make their own short
animation with an opportunity to have their work put to VHS
tape.
